HiRes Version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t46JyiqfVwg&fmt=18 One of the winners of Chazz's 2nd annual LF emulation contest, SpongeStorm4000, chose to have a WS4000 out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He wanted it to look as it did in April 1991, this STAR features the first graphical version of the Current Conditions screen with the HUGE icons. What is also interesting about this era is that nighttime icons did not yet exist, so if it were Clear, Partly Cloudy or Mostly Cloudy, the icon would depict a sun; even if it were 1AM. That only happens at Sarah Palin's house! Another interesting thing happened in April 1991; the Travel Cities Forecast's list was updated... and this very short lived list featured a mix of cities from the list that had been running for a few years prior, as well as new cities from what would be the final list of cities that are still in use today (on The STAR Jr). Videos featuring this list of cities are quite rare. A few things I've never done before appear in this video: This is the first time I've emulated a weather sensor hooked up to the star, thus the odd ticker on the bottom of the screen. The 4000's clock has now been programmed to go into the next hour (it rolls over into 9:00:00 PM). This is also the first time I've used an icon with a sun in it for the current conditions well beyond sunset... seems odd to me, but that is how it originally aired. This is the first time I've emulated this list of cities in the TCF, and is also the second video to have the "You Need Us, TWC" bumper. Please do not mind the last few minutes of the video, its just so I can obtain a thumbnail shot of the Current Conditions screen.
