🌟Green Bay passes new short-term rental rules

Green Bay alders approved new rules for short-term rentals Tuesday evening after months of collaboration between city officials and property owners.

The ordinance requires posted house rules that include parking requirements, on-street parking restrictions, noise expectations, and contact information for a designated local contact person.

City officials will also maintain a database of all short-term rentals, and permit applications must now include additional information. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

If a property receives a nuisance complaint, the owner must attend a correction meeting with the city before a permit can be suspended or revoked. Owners also have the ability to appeal complaints before the city’s plan commission.

City officials say the goal is to reduce nuisance complaints while giving neighbors clearer ways to address concerns with nearby rentals. Green Bay currently has 456 short-term rental properties, with two more going through the application process

πŸ“ˆ Green Bay moves forward on a new pavilion and biergarten at Leicht Memorial Park.

The City of Green Bay has hired design and engineering firm ISG to oversee construction of a new pavilion at Leicht Memorial Park, part of a larger redevelopment plan aimed at bringing more activity downtown.

Construction is expected to begin on March 12 with a targeted completion date of December 4. The project must be finished within nine months to secure about $5 million in local tax district funding tied to the development.

The pavilion will include a biergarten-style gathering space, and future phases could add an amphitheater, walking paths, and river access along the Fox River.

City officials estimate the finished project could attract around 150,000 visitors each year and generate roughly $9 million in annual economic impact for the area.
