Hey Green Bay 🍂🎭

✨ This week feels like gratitude and momentum rolled into one.

Thanksgiving has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice what’s happening around us, and honestly, there’s a lot to take in. The city is buzzing with new openings, big community wins, small acts of generosity, and that cozy “we’re all in this together” feeling that hits different this time of year.

We’ve got new places to try, stories worth paying attention to, weekend plans you’ll want on your calendar, and little snapshots of community goodness that make this season what it is.

It’s a good week to look around and remember how lucky we are to call this place home.

Let’s buzz. 💚🦃

📰💫 Positively Green Bay

📌Packers Help Power Thanksgiving Meals for Local Families 🦃💚

Christian Outreach is finishing up its annual Thanksgiving meal deliveries, and this year, the Green Bay Packers once again provided all the turkeys that will head out to households across the area.

Volunteers gathered at the Johnsonville Tailgate Village to prep and pack meals, which are delivered directly to people who may be struggling financially, unable to cook, or spending the holiday alone.

As volunteer coordinator Katy Gertzhauber shared, the goal is to “expand the dinner table” and help the community feel connected on a day that can be difficult for many.

A simple but powerful Green Bay tradition, neighbors taking care of neighbors.

📌Allouez Gives the Green Light (Round 1) to New Webster Ave. Redevelopment 🏗️

Allouez officials just gave initial approval to a scaled-back, mixed-use redevelopment plan for the former strip-mall site on Webster Ave.

The Allouez Village Board approved a development agreement with Allouez Development Group LLC for the now-vacant property at 1905 S. Webster Ave. The refreshed plan aims to breathe new life into the village-owned parcel, previously tied to the old Festival Foods headquarters, by transforming it into a more modern, community-friendly space.

This is just the early green light, so expect more rounds of approvals, design tweaks, and public input as the project moves forward.

📈 Aldi Opens Its Sixth Green Bay Area Location 🛒

Bellevue just got a new addition, Aldi has officially opened its sixth Green Bay–area store at 1961 Town Hall Road, with a ribbon-cutting on November 21.

Despite the gray skies, more than 175 people were in line by 8:30 AM, showing just how much demand there is for another affordable grocery option in the area.

This new Bellevue store joins Aldi’s other regional locations:

  • Ashwaubenon (opened 2018)

  • De Pere (opened 2018)

  • Suamico (opened 2023)

  • Plus existing Green Bay sites

Aldi reports offering fresh organic produce, affordable meats and cheeses, gluten-free and plant-based options, and both curbside pickup & grocery delivery.

🌮 Las Maracas Opens a Second Green Bay Location 🎉

Craving street-style Mexican food? Las Maracas just expanded with a brand-new location on the east side!

The restaurant opened its second spot on Nov. 17 at 800 Cedar St., the former Greyhound bus station and the former home of La Chata. Their first location on 2450 Velp Ave. in Howard opened earlier this year in the old Bacon Burger Company building.

Expect all the goodies they’re known for: vibrant flavors, fast service, and an authentic Mexican street food vibe, now even more accessible for east-side locals.

A great new option to add to your weekend food lineup. 🌮🔥

🏢 Stage 1 Building Hits the Market After Liquor License Dispute

A longtime downtown Green Bay property is now up for sale after Stage 1, the bar at 231–233 N. Broadway, was shuttered following a liquor license battle between its owner and the City of Green Bay.

The closure has pushed the entire building, including The Lyric Room next door, onto the market. It’s been posted with yellow sale placards since mid-October.

💰 Asking Price:
Originally listed at $895,000, the price has now been reduced to $850,000 on Crexi.

The bar itself is marked “permanently closed” across multiple online platforms.

This location sits in a high-traffic corridor on Broadway, making it a potentially interesting pickup for a developer, investor, or someone looking to bring a new concept to the District.
