There's a certain energy in the air right now that's hard to ignore. You can feel it when you're out and about, when you're talking to neighbors, when you're just driving around town. Green Bay is doing its thing, and it feels good to be part of it.
As always, we pulled together everything worth knowing and doing this week, so you don't have to go hunting for it. That's what we're here for.
Scroll down, find your plans, and go make some memories. ππ

π³οΈ Green Bay City Council Has Some New Faces
Tuesday's spring election brought some changes to the council. Six of seven incumbents in contested races held their seats, but Craig Stevens lost his bid for reelection to challenger Doug Orlowski. Two newcomers, Ben DeBaker and Jon Shelton, were also elected to fill open seats.
The new council members will be sworn in and begin their terms in the coming weeks.
π§ Wisconsin Just Unlocked $133M for Clean Water
Big news for anyone who cares about what's coming out of their tap. Governor Evers signed two bipartisan bills releasing $133 million to address PFAS contamination across Wisconsin.
What that money does:
π΅ $80M in grants to help municipalities test, treat, and clean up PFAS
π $35M to expand well replacement to help more homeowners, schools, and daycares
π° Emergency bottled water for affected private well owners
π· 10 new DNR staff positions
PFAS are sometimes called "forever chemicals" and are linked to serious health issues. This money has been sitting untouched since 2023 due to political disagreements. It's now moving.

π NEW Community Shelter Breaking Ground on $14M Housing Project
Construction is underway on a new $14 million permanent supportive housing facility by the NEW Community Shelter. The project will provide stable, long-term housing for individuals who have completed the shelter's program and are ready to live independently.
Good news for the community. π

π΅ A New Music Venue is Coming to Downtown Green Bay This Summer
This is a big one for the local music scene. A new venue called Revelry is opening this August in the long-vacant Schauer & Schumacher building at 227 E. Walnut St., right in the heart of downtown.
π’ Two-floor setup: a 425-capacity main concert space with top-tier sound and lighting, plus a 220-capacity first-floor bar with a smaller stage for local and acoustic acts
π ΏοΈ Free parking after 6 PM at the Cherry Street ramp right next door
π Soft open targeting August 1, grand opening celebration August 28-29
βΏ Fully ADA-compliant, designed to be accessible to everyone
πͺ Also available for weddings, fundraisers, galas, and private events
The goal is to fill a gap in Green Bay's live music scene and attract mid-sized touring acts that currently bypass the city for Madison and Milwaukee. That's a win for everyone.
