Green Bay was buried, and honestly, we earned this edition.

If you spent the last few days shoveling, sliding, or just staring out the window, wondering if spring is real, you're not alone. This blizzard hit hard, and the city felt it.

But here's what I keep noticing: Green Bay doesn't really slow down. Driveways got cleared for neighbors. Local spots stayed open. People kept showing up. That's just how this place works, and it never gets old to watch.

This week's edition is built around getting back to it, things to do, places to support, and a few ways to make the most of what's left of this Wisconsin winter (whether you're ready for it or not).

Let's go. ❄️

Over 10,000 Green Bay locals keep up with what’s happening through Green Bay Buzz.

Got an event, news update, or something cool happening in the community?

Drop it in our 📝 Event Submission Form and it might be featured in an upcoming edition. 🎉

Green Bay Buzz exists because of the community, and we love highlighting what makes this city great. 💛

🐦 A Simple Way to Help Right Now

After the recent blizzard, local wildlife experts are encouraging the community to step in and help, especially for returning birds that weren’t expecting this much snow all at once.

Neighbors have been refilling feeders multiple times a day, putting out dried fruit or mealworms, and making sure birds have access to food during this tough stretch.

If you’ve got a feeder (or even just a little extra food to put out), this is an easy way to help support local wildlife right now 🐦

🧡 Just a Moment to Appreciate This Community

This past week has been no joke, with heavy snow, long cleanup days, and crews working around the clock to keep roads, lots, and walkways safe for everyone.

And yet… people keep showing up.

From plow drivers and crews putting in long hours, to neighbors helping neighbors, to small everyday acts that don’t get noticed, it all adds up.

🍺🏙️ Big Things Brewing in De Pere

De Pere might be getting a major new hangout spot… and it sounds GOOD 👀

A Madison-based brewery is working on plans to transform the longtime Abbey Bar into a full experience space featuring:
🍻 taproom + brewery
🍕 restaurant
🎉 event space

The project would bring a $1.5 million renovation to downtown and could significantly boost the property’s value.

Even better… they plan to keep the spirit of The Abbey alive, honoring its history while creating something new

🏛️ A historic building in De Pere just got some well-deserved recognition 👏

The former State Bank of De Pere, originally built in 1877, is now officially listed on the State Register of Historic Places.

What’s really cool… It’s not just sitting there untouched. The building has been preserved and is now home to a local pub, keeping that history alive rather than forgotten.

Even better, original features like historic tile and architectural details were uncovered and restored during renovations.
