π Green Bay Gets Smarter π€π‘
The future is here, and itβs rolling out right in Green Bay. The city just launched βConnect Green Bay,β a brand-new, brilliant initiative using AI and data to make local life smoother, faster, and way more connected.
π¦ Smarter traffic flow.
π§ Faster fixes for city issues.
π² Better ways to connect with local services.
The goal? A city that doesnβt just respond, it predicts and improves before problems even start.
Think fewer potholes, more efficient snow routes, and easier access to info when you actually need it. Green Bayβs stepping into the tech spotlight, and weβre all along for the ride. πβοΈ
πAshwaubenon Debates Public Encampment Ban
The Village of Ashwaubenon is considering a new ordinance that would ban public encampments on village-owned property, citing safety and sanitation concerns.
If passed, it would prohibit camping, sleeping, or storing belongings in public spaces such as parks, sidewalks, and underpasses. Supporters say it protects public safety and cleanliness, while others worry it could affect those experiencing homelessness without offering better alternatives.
Village officials are reviewing feedback and will discuss the ordinance in upcoming meetings.
Community Pulse: Do you think Ashwaubenon should move forward with this public encampment ban?
πβοΈGreen Bay Goes Solar Smart
Green Bay is officially shining bright! π The City of Green Bay has been recognized as one of Wisconsinβs 12 SolSmart-designated communities, joining a statewide group of local governments leading the charge on clean energy and solar innovation.
The designation means Green Bay is:
π Streamlining solar permits
π‘ Exploring community solar gardens
β‘ Making clean energy more accessible for residents and businesses
The city says this move is part of a long-term effort to build a more sustainable, affordable, and forward-thinking community for everyone.
π§ South Broadway Closure- Green Bay
Heads-up, drivers: π
South Broadway Street is temporarily closed this week as crews complete railroad track repairs near the Mason Street intersection. Work is expected to wrap up by Friday, Oct 18, weather permitting.
β‘οΈ Plan a few extra minutes if you travel through that area.
βοΈ Weather Buzz - Rainy Week AheadβοΈ

π€ Thursday: Mostly cloudy, highs near 63Β°, with another round of rain possible by evening.
π¬ Friday: Dry and breezy early, then more showers rolling in overnight. Highs in the low 70s.

π Bay Shore Park
The facts:
Brown County plans to invest $2.5 million into Bay Shore Park upgrades, with funds proposed in the 2026 budget. The project includes a new ranger station, redesigned entrance road, improved parking, and updates to the boat launch and campgrounds. π
Whatβs next:
The proposal goes before the County Board on Oct. 29 for approval. If passed, construction could start in late 2026.
Still unclear:
Exact phasing, construction timeline, and public input details havenβt been shared yet.
Why it matters:
Bay Shore Park is one of the areaβs most loved outdoor spaces, and this investment could shape how locals and visitors experience it for decades to come. π

π 7 Brew Is Making Fall in Green Bay Even Better
As if fall in Green Bay wasnβt already perfect with crunchy leaves, Friday night lights, and cozy hoodies, now itβs getting even sweeter. 7 Brew, the drive-thru coffee favorite known for its huge drink menu and friendly energy, is opening a second location at 2435 W. Mason St.
Crews recently placed the pre-built stand where the old Auto Aces used to be, and the countdown to coffee is officially on. The Bellevue shop that opened last December already has locals hooked, and now the west side is getting its own spot to caffeinate in style.
From pumpkin spice to caramel cold brews, 7 Brew has the fuel to keep your fall vibes strong all season long. πβ

π Green Bayβs Housing Shake-Up
Green Bay is rethinking how we build.
City officials are exploring a major zoning overhaul that could open the door to more affordable housing, modern mixed-use spaces, and faster development timelines.
For decades, specific zoning rules have limited what can be built, often keeping single-family homes separate from multi-unit housing. But with costs rising and demand booming, city planners are asking a bold question:
π What if we made it easier to build homes that real people can actually afford?
If passed, the updates could mean:
π More options like duplexes, townhomes & small apartments
π° Lower building costs through flexibility
π More innovative land use & revitalized neighborhoods
Itβs early, but the conversation could redefine Green Bayβs future skyline and who gets to call it home.
