๐ฐ๐ Good Neighbor Week Planning Kicks Off
NeighborWorks Green Bay is forming the planning committee for the 7th annual Good Neighbor Week, a citywide effort focused on care, connection, and community support.
Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome. Ways to help include:
๐ก Project ideas (home & yard)
๐ Volunteer coordination
๐งฉ Planning & timelines
๐ฃ Storytelling & outreach
๐๏ธ Kickoff meeting: Jan 26, 4โ5 PM (Zoom)
๐ Efforts expand in De Pere, continue in Allouez, and serve homeowners across Green Bay.
๐ก๐ Borrow a Bookโฆ and a Radon Detector?!
Brown County libraries are now offering something a little unexpected: free digital radon detectors you can check out just like a library book. Through a new partnership between Brown County Public Health and the Brown County Library, residents can borrow a detector, place it in the lowest level of their home for about a week, and get automatic readings on radon levels. Radon is an odorless gas linked to lung cancer and is found in roughly 1 in 10 Wisconsin homes, making this an easy, no-cost way to protect your familyโs health. Devices are available at all Brown County Library branches, no special appointment required.
๐ Big love for local nonprofits
Green Bay is showing up in a big way. 50 local nonprofits have been selected for the 9th annual Give BIG Green Bay, unlocking a community-wide wave of generosity for causes that strengthen our city. From families and food security to housing, health, and youth programs, this is Green Bay doing what it does best: taking care of its own. ๐ช๐

๐โพ New Indoor Sports Facility Opens
Green Bayโs lineup just got stronger. The Baseball Cages has officially opened, giving athletes of all ages a new indoor space to train, swing, and stay active year-round.
Designed for everyone from beginners to seasoned players, the facility offers a place to build skills, stay moving through winter, and keep local athletes developing without needing elite or professional experience.
This is another example of local investment meeting real community needs, especially for youth sports, families, and athletes looking for accessible ways to stay active in Northeast Wisconsin.
More options. More opportunity. More reasons to love where we live. ๐

๐ข ๐๏ธGreen Bay Public Market Gets More Time to Cross the Finish Line
The long-anticipated Green Bay Public Market is officially getting more runway. City leaders have approved another extension, pushing the projectโs completion deadline to December 2027. Originally announced back in 2022, the market has faced multiple delays, but officials say the vision is still alive and moving forward.
Hereโs the key takeaway for residents and downtown watchers: no local taxpayer dollars have been paid out yet. The project is tied to a pay-as-you-go TIF structure, meaning funding only kicks in if the development actually increases property values. Developers still need to close a remaining $5.5 million funding gap and must show proof of full financing by May 1, 2026, to keep things on track.
Love it or question it, the Public Market remains one of the most talked-about downtown projects, and this extension keeps the door open for it to become a future hub for food, small businesses, and community connection on Broadway.
