⚡ TL; DR-

  • 🎤 Uncle Kracker plays EPIC tonight

  • ⚾ The Rockers are back home this weekend (Sat is a charity night with a free hat)

  • 🧺 Free food and live music at Picnic in the Park on Sunday

  • 🌮 A west-side taco spot people won't shut up about: Tirado's

  • 🏗️ De Pere just greenlit a $70M waterfront makeover

  • 💛 AJ Dillon drops $30K to feed local kids

  • 🎸 Get The Led Out brings Zeppelin to the Meyer on Wednesday

and more.

Hey Neighbors 👋

It's still light out at 9. The neighbor kids are running around barefoot till someone calls them in, half the block smells like a grill, and nobody's in a hurry to be anywhere.

This is the version of Green Bay I'd bottle if I could. It doesn't last, so you kind of owe it to yourself to get out in it.

Grab a coffee. There's a lot.

Let's get into it. 👇

📌 🏞️ Have a Say in Badger Park's Future

Here's your chance to actually shape something. The city and the Badger Tracks Neighborhood Association have put together a master plan for Badger Park and want to hear what you think before it's finalized. If you live nearby, use the park, or just have opinions about how it should look, they're inviting you to weigh in.

  • 🗓️ Monday, July 13, 6:00 PM at the Downtown Library (lower level, rooms 1 and 2)

  • 🗓️ Can't make it? It's also up at the Parks Committee meeting Tuesday, July 15, 5:00 PM at City Hall

📌 AJ Dillon Is Still Here

AJ Dillon and his wife Gabrielle handed over a $30,000 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region this week. The money funds a new teen-led cooking and nutrition program centered on fresh, locally grown food, and they're hoping it will grow into a farm-to-table model for kids across Northeast Wisconsin. Fighting food insecurity has always been the heart of their foundation, and it shows.

🥓 A National Show Is Coming to Mack's Pub

Fun one for De Pere. America's Best Restaurants is bringing its Roadshow to Mack's Pub and Grill to film an episode, and the taping is open to the public. Mack's is known for wings brined in-house for two days, fresh-made pizza, and those spring-roll-wrapped mozzarella logs. If you want to be part of a filmed episode and eat well doing it, go be a face in the crowd.

  • 🗓️ Tuesday, July 14

  • 📍 Mack's Pub and Grill, 2983 Lawrence Drive, De Pere

🌮 Tirado's Taqueria Is Worth the Trip West

A little west-side gem getting some love. Tirado's Taqueria has only been open a few months on Bond Street, and it's the sister spot to the original in Appleton. The word from local foodies is that the quesabirria tacos are the move. Stuffed, flavorful, and a dipping sauce people are borderline obsessed with. There's a salsa bar too if you want to load up, but by all accounts one bite in and it's already right.

🍦 Thibby's Ice Cream Truck Rolls On

That red-and-white striped truck you've been hearing all summer isn't going anywhere. Thibby's Ice Cream Truck, a longtime Green Bay-area favorite, just changed hands, and the new owners are keeping the tradition going: same treats, same jingle, same summer smiles. Best part, you can book the truck for your own party or event, which is a pretty easy way to win a backyard birthday.

🏨 De Pere's Waterfront Just Got a Green Light

Big one for De Pere. The city council approved the Lockside project this week, a nearly $70 million mixed-use building going up along South Broadway and the Fox. Plans call for 173 units of apartments, condos, and townhomes, plus commercial space for three or four new businesses.

The part worth picturing: Front Street becomes a public plaza with a statement staircase running down to the water. Same developer behind the Nova building in downtown Green Bay. Construction is expected to wrap mid to late 2028, so this is a long play, but the riverfront is officially changing.

🏗 Oneida Nation Puts $400K Into Two Local Projects

Nice bit of community investment this week. The Oneida Nation is putting $400,000 into two Green Bay projects: $300,000 toward community programs and infrastructure tied to the JBS Redevelopment's Urban Food Production Barn, and a $100,000 donation toward the shoreline walk at Bay Beach.

The Bay Beach piece is a little bittersweet. The shoreline walk, which would add a wildlife viewing platform, is on hold for now after construction bids came in over budget. But the funding is banked and ready when the city sorts out next steps.

🤝 Local business? Let's put you in front of the neighborhood.

The Buzz goes out every week to 10K Green Bay locals who actually read it and show up to the stuff we feature. We're teaming up with a handful of local businesses, no cost to start, just good exposure to the right people. If that's you, reply to this email or reach out at [email protected].

We keep it simple.

🍞 Beginner Sourdough Classes

A week of demonstration-style sourdough classes, $69 per person, take-home starter included. This one is in Appleton at a private residence, and the post itself opens with "Appleton friends." That's outside your coverage area, so I'd normally cut it. Included here only because you asked for everything. Recommend leaving it out.

  • 🗓️ July 13 to 17, afternoon and evening slots

  • 📍 Appleton (private residence)

🎸 Get The Led Out at the Meyer

Billed as "the American Led Zeppelin," this crew plays the catalog live, note for note, no backing tracks. If you've got a Zeppelin fan in your life, there's your date night.

  • 📍 Meyer Theatre, downtown Green Bay

🎤 Uncle Kracker at EPIC (Tonight)

🚜 Little Farmer Friday

Same farm, worth its own mention because it's a genuinely funny one. The kids serve the snacks, then the animals hand out their "Yelp reviews."
