Green Bay. December. Let's GO. 👋🧣

You know that feeling when the whole city clicks into gear? When the cold hits your face but somehow makes everything feel more alive? When strangers nod at each other like, yeah, we chose this life? That's this week.

Also, we are at the end of another year, and I am in denial!

This is the week where your coffee exists purely as a hand warmer. Where your kid loses their mind over every single string of lights like they invented Christmas. Where the whole city leans in a little closer, laughs a little louder, and remembers why we actually like each other.

So zip up. Breathe in that sharp Wisconsin air. Smile at a stranger (they'll smile back — it's Green Bay).

And let's get into it. 💚🧀

📰💫 Positively Green Bay

📌 De Pere Launches Its First-Ever Youth Commission

De Pere is making history; the City Council just unanimously approved the creation of its first Youth Commission, designed to give local teens an authentic voice in city decisions and community development.

The commission will include 7–15 students, ages 14–18, from West De Pere, De Pere, and Notre Dame of De Pere schools. After interviews, Mayor James Boyd will select the final members, who will each serve for one year.

🌟 What the Youth Commission Will Do

  • Work with local businesses on leadership + volunteer opportunities

  • Help develop neighborhood parks

  • Plan events introducing teens to different careers

  • Build stronger connections between schools and city leadership

  • Act as an advisory board to the City Council, hosting forums + raising youth issues

  • Collaborate with teen advisors on the Park Board + Sustainability Commission

Applications open in February, with the first commission expected to begin in May.

A big step toward giving De Pere’s youth a seat at the table.

📌NWTC Wins $1.3M Grant to Support First-Gen & Low-Income Students

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College just secured a $1.3 million federal TRIO grant to expand support for first-generation, low-income, and disabled students, funding a brand-new program that will serve 140 students a year with free advising, tutoring, financial guidance, and career planning starting in spring 2026.

🌬️ Weather Watch: Early-Season Cold Snap Incoming

The National Weather Service says Thursday could bring the coldest early-December temps we’ve seen in years, with several Wisconsin cities flirting with record lows.
Green Bay’s forecast low? –1°, compared to the record –8° (1977).

Bundle up — winter is showing up fast. ❄️🧥

📈 ⛽ Rapid Refuel

Busy week? No time to stop for gas? This local service is legitimately genius.

Rapid Refuel is a mobile fuel-delivery membership that fills your tank while you’re at work, home, or anywhere in its GB delivery area. You pay for your gas like normal, they handle the drive, the pump, and the time you get back. ⏳

Green Bay families, us, and business owners swear by it. Use the promo for your first month of membership with them.

🏡 A 125-Year-Old Green Bay Landmark Hits the Market.

One of Green Bay’s most ornate and historic homes is officially for sale, and it’s the first time it’s been on the market in over a decade.

  • Dragon spout accents

  • Ornate woodwork

  • Turn-of-the-century craftsmanship
