Alright… a quick shoutout👇
One of my favorite things lately? The messages.
Every week, new subscribers jump in and send a quick note like,
“Thanks for letting us know what’s going on.”
And honestly… that means a lot and that is the whole point.
Because every week I sit down to put this together, and there’s way more happening than most people realize. The energy is there. The creativity is there. The community is definitely there.
This city quietly does cool stuff all the time. You just have to know where to look.
That’s what this is. Your shortcut.
Scroll it. Send it to someone. Show up somewhere.
Let’s make it a good week. 🐝🔥

A big thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their updates for this week’s edition.
You’re the heartbeat of this newsletter, and we love getting to spotlight what makes Green Bay shine. 💛

🌿Green Bay’s Conservation Corps just released its 2025 Year in Review, and it’s a strong one.
In a single year, crews treated 300+ acres of parkland (that’s more than 230 football fields 🏈), removed nearly 7,700 gallons of invasive plants, and installed 14,000+ native plants across the city. 🌱
A major highlight? Continued expansion of the Northeast Wisconsin Pollinator Corridor, adding thousands of native plants to create connected habitats for bees, butterflies, and birds, with plantings spaced less than half a mile apart to support migration and survival. 🐝🦋
The program also launched a new Roving Crew initiative, expanding restoration work up to 60 miles beyond Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary to strengthen ecosystems on a regional level.
The Corps will continue through August 2026 with approved federal AmeriCorps funding. 🌎
This is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps Green Bay’s parks thriving and our environment healthier year after year.
💵 One Community Fund Surpasses $1 Million in Donations
Big milestone for Greater Green Bay. The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation’s One Community Fund has officially surpassed $1 million in contributions, a powerful sign of what happens when a community pulls together.
Launched in 2024, the fund supports urgent local needs, including housing, mental health, childcare, healthcare, education, and economic stability. In its first year alone, it invested $430,000 in initiatives including expanding school mental health access, opening new childcare classrooms, and supporting housing stability through programs such as the Tenant Success Fund.
The fund partners with Forward Community Investments to offer loans up to $300,000 for projects that strengthen our region across four key areas: housing, healthcare, education, and economic stability.

📈 Building the Next Workforce
Green Bay just made a bold move for the future.
Southwest High School hosted its first-ever Trades Day, bringing together 400–500 students and nearly 50 local organizations and businesses to spotlight careers in construction and skilled trades
That’s not small.
This wasn’t just a “career fair.” It was a direct response to a very real workforce gap. As industry leaders shared during the event, construction trades are feeling the pressure of an aging workforce and critical labor shortages
Translation:
There is an opportunity here.
City leaders and industry partners showed up, reinforcing something that’s always been true about Green Bay: we build things. We make things. And that doesn’t happen without skilled hands
If this becomes an annual tradition, it won’t just be a school event.
It will be a pipeline.
Green Bay isn’t waiting around for “someone else” to solve workforce shortages. We’re introducing students directly to the industries that power this region.
That’s how growth actually happens.
