đGreen Bay Approves Emergency Funding to Save Conservation Corps
After a major cut to AmeriCorps funding, Green Bayâs Common Council stepped in with $115,000 in emergency funds to keep the local Conservation Corps running through August 2025. The programâlaunched in 2022âhandles trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and habitat restoration. Mayor Genrich called it a lifeline, but warned it's just a short-term fix unless federal support returns.
đLocal Construction Company Raises Nearly $44K for Childrenâs Miracle Network
Consolidated Construction Company transformed its annual employee gathering into a philanthropic event, raising $43,796.57 for Childrenâs Miracle Network Hospitals. The initiative, dubbed âConsolidated for a Cause,â was inspired by an employee's personal connection to the organization. Through raffles, games, and sponsorships, 120 team members collaborated to support three regional hospitals. The company plans to continue this charitable tradition in the coming years.
The Green Bay Vintage Market has been recognized by Midwest Living as one of the Best Spring Markets in the Midwest for 2025. This monthly event, held at Badger State Brewing Company in Green Bay, features over 70 vendors offering a curated selection of vintage clothing, home décor, handmade goods, and more.
Green Bayâs own Hinterland Brewery brought home a bronze medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup, one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world. Their Altbier took third place in the German-Style Altbier category, beating out entries from nearly 50 countries and over 8,000 beers.

đĄ New Housing and Commercial Development Approved Near Red Smith School
The Green Bay City Council has approved a rezoning and development plan for land across from Red Smith Elementary School. The project will introduce new houses, duplexes, apartments, and commercial spaces to the area. While some neighbors have expressed concerns about increased population density and environmental impacts, the council voted to move forward with the plan.

đ„ Coming Soon: New Inpatient Rehab Hospital in Howard
Construction is underway on a new 40-bed rehabilitation hospital near I-41 on South Taylor Streetâdeveloped by LifePoint Health and The Sanders Trust (which has historic ties to Packers legend Bart Starr).
Slated to open in Fall 2026, the hospital will focus on stroke, brain injury, spinal cord trauma, and orthopedic rehab, bringing over 120 jobs to the Greater Green Bay area.
While it won't include an ER, the facility fills a growing need for long-term recovery and rehabilitation care in the region.
Another big win for healthcare accessâand a clear sign Green Bay's medical corridor is booming.
